Drácula es sin duda uno de los personajes más reconocibles de toda la literatura gótica y de terror. La novela del mismo nombre fue publicada en 1897 por el escritor irlandés Bram Stoker (1847-1912) y su trabajo fue comparado con el de Edgar Allan Poe y Mary Shelley, por su atmósfera y temática, aunque el estilo de narración epistolar de Stoker creó una narrativa más convincente. El nombre Drácula se convirtió en sinónimo de vampirismo y en el arquetipo del vampiro elegante, y con el tiempo la novela se ha convertido en inspiración para muchas historias y ha sido reinventada de innumerables maneras.
