The published screenplay will comprise J.K. Rowlings full script of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: an exciting adventure featuring an array of magical creatures and characters. Publication of the screenplay closely follows the films worldwide release by Warner Bros. Pictures on 18th November 2016. A new and original story by J.K. Rowling, the film was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by the authors character Newt Scamander, the wizarding worlds preeminent Magizoologist. The film opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander, played by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical briefcase, and the escape of some of Newts fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
