FISHER, CAROL-ANNE / TOBELLA, MONTSERRAT
My First Reading Books help children to consider reading as an enjoyable activity and a valuable source of information in the language learning process from an early age. Reading opens up a new world of fantasy for children, enriches their lives and at the same time, develops their vital language and critical thinking skills. It exposes them to the correct grammar structures and phrasing and helps to build on their spoken language skills and their ability to express themselves verbally in a corect and coherent manner.
The reading activities included at the end of the book have been designed to strengthen basic comprehension skills and help teachers and parents to assess the student's progress.
The book includes an audio CD containing the recording of the story, the activities and a fun song to give the children practise and reinforcement of the language concepts presented.
The Clouds in the Sky. The children go on a trip to the mountains with their two monitors Colin and Cathy. While they are outdoors they learn how to identify the different shapes and sizes of the things they see around them. The paths are long and they bend, the sun is a big circle in the sky, their tents look like small triangles when they observe them from the mountain top and even the clouds have different shapes.
Maybe you have seen animal shapes and differet objects flying in the sky too.
